Your job will be:
*To address all allegations of abuse of 'adults at risk' from any source concerning any operation of the Authority and to take a decision on an investigation having regard to the nature and circumstance of the allegation.
*To fully investigate any case in accordance with the concepts of independence, confidentiality, due professional care and good practice, maintaining the highest professional standards.
*To report findings of investigations making recommendations and conclusions in a clear, concise, accurate and readable manner. To act with objectivity, tenacity, tact and exhibit lateral thinking.
*To have regard for systems control failures, weaknesses and poor value for money when undertaking investigations and to make the relevant recommendations for improvement.
*To provide full support, encouraging Service Unit Managers / Directors to detect and refer abuse of 'adults at risk' and to provide advice where the responsibility for investigation has been devolved.
*To provide advice and issue guidelines to the devolved Council on reducing abuse of 'adults at risk' initiatives and prevention measures and to act in partnership with devolved services to create an anti-abuse culture.
*To assess systems under investigation to highlight risks.
*To participate in Nation-wide Safeguarding Adults initiatives, undertaking appropriate data matching exercises. This requires a methodical and logical approach
